At Hometown Design Build, we’re with you through every step of your home-building journey.

Our transparent, client-focused approach ensures that each phase, from planning and budgeting to construction and beyond, is simple and stress-free for you.

Phase One

Preconstruction Meeting

Thoughtful planning is essential to the success of a great remodel.

During the pre-construction phase, we will meet on-site to discuss the scope of your project, get to know you, and understand your goals.

We will assess, offer, and explore ideas for the best way to get your project off the ground and gather the proper information to provide a preliminary design proposal and estimated budget.

Phase Two

Preliminary Design Proposal & Costs

After an initial meeting, we put together a Preliminary Design Proposal, Construction Plan, and Estimated Budget Proposal for your project.

The Estimated Budget Proposal factors in labor and material costs and is based on our experience with similar projects.

It is meant to provide a practical understanding of your expected expenses and to determine and answer questions.

Our preliminary proposal comes at no cost to you and is truly meant to be a starting point in determining the totality of your project.

Phase Three

Follow Up Meeting

Once the preliminary proposal and estimate have been reviewed, we will schedule a time to discuss your project in greater detail.

During this meeting, we will answer any questions you may have, solidify a design plan, and gather the necessary information to move forward to the design phase of your project.

We will also discuss a construction plan and schedule that works for both our construction crew and you.

Phase Four

Design & Moving Forward

Once a client is ready to proceed, they will remit a signed Design Proposal and a retainer for design services as outlined in the preliminary proposal.

This serves as the starting point for us to begin planning and bringing your dream designs to life! We will organize your project, draft the design, and finalize material selections, which will aid us in defining your overall budget.

The design phase will vary based on the scope of your project and will be collectively discussed before proceeding.

Phase Five

Fixed Budget Proposal

After the Design Phase is approved, we will present you with a fixed-budget proposal.

The proposal is meticulously crafted to safeguard your investment and time, offering a completely transparent road map of expected costs and construction parameters. Nevertheless, changes can inevitably occur as a project unfolds.

Rest assured, all change orders or unexpected hurdles will be promptly and clearly communicated to you, ensuring we can collectively devise a strategic plan to move forward.

Phase Six

Construction

Following the approval of your Fixed Budget proposal, we will move forward to the construction portion of your project.

You will receive an “Intent to Contract” document and an invoice for the construction deposit. Signing the Intent to Contract and paying your construction deposit will reserve your project on our construction calendar.

Then it’s time to get to work!
